Final Weeks

We are down to our two final weeks and with the playoffs around the corner some teams are going to be scrambling to get in. This week is the final week of the regular season and next week is makeup week. That is the week that teams may catch up on their games before the begining of the playoffs. There are plenty of people on vacation these days so it should be easier to schedule games. Any team that has not finished all their games on or before December 27, 2008 will be taken out of the league. This is done in order for the playoffs to start in time. The Pool is Underway

The first half of the pool is over and amazingly enough only two team owners took advantage of it. Looks like this pool has completely backfired. The pool was started in order to give teams on the lower half of the standings a better chance to climb the rankings. Now it looks like this pool is just going to increase the gap between both sides of the standings.

Big Announcement Is Here

League owners with losing records may get new life breathed into them. NFL owners have different ways to better their teams but we on the other hand have very little options, until next week. So prepare yourself for some upcoming news.

Disqualification Decision

The decision on the disqualification of SOG xCorbyx and SOG Abednego306:

     "I just want to first tell everyone how much I enjoy your love and passion for the league. Without your passion the league would just seem bland and uneventful.  It is because of you we even have a league, but of course with a league comes various rules. The rules were written and finalized before the season even began. Every team owner was sent a message giving specific instructions on how to sign onto the league and a reminder to read the rules and regulations posted on the threads. The rule that you can not jump ahead in the season was put in place to aid in running this league as smoothly as possible. There are many places where a lack of such a rule would create disarray and ineffectiveness. Take for example the rankings both on this site and in-game. If someone played all their games in week one and won most of them, they would be in the number 1 spot on the rankings for most of the season. That would be unfair to someone who taking it one week at a time. It would also be unfair to people who enjoy having a highlight of the week, predictions, or game summaries. As Christians we know that lack of authority creates chaos and as much as we don't like it sometimes, rules have to be enforced.

As far as the disqualification, Abednego306 will remain in the league; xCorbyx has been asked to resign. The decision to keep Abednego306 and not xCorbyx was made because xCorbyx is unable to continue in the league despite this incident. As per my understanding in having conversations via PM's with him, he is going to be without internet access for at least a month and as much as it hurts me for him to leave the league, he can't have more than 6 unplayed games (3 weeks) at a time. Once he leaves the league, all stats will be reset by EA and Abednego306's win against xCorbyx won't count.

As I have already stated, I really love the enthusiasm and passion many of the league members have shown. However, I don't appreciate nor take kindly to threats of any kind and saying that people are going to quit if I enforce league rules is a threat. The rules that are in place have been in place since the begining of the season, if anyone had a problem with them they shouldn't have joined. It's funny to me how some people have been so vocal on the threads about this incident, but none of them have messaged me with their concerns. Matters like this are handed by private messages, not public forums. This was a private matter concerning two members and myself, no one else. I do however make my all my final decisions public. After all you do have a right to know what is going on in your league.

Possible Disqualification

On September 28th SOG xCorbyx posted a thread titled "Oh, What shall I do?" in which he stated that he may have to drop out due to a moving schedule that may take "...three weeks at the most." Prompted by fellow leaguers he then contacted SOG Abednego306 and set up a time to play a week 7 game. The game was played ahead of time during week 6. The rules clearly state that "You can play the 2 games in any order you'd like but you can only play 2 games a week, no jumping ahead." they also state "Hate to say this, but anyone who does not abide by the official league rules may and will be kicked out the league." A decision on the disqualification is pending.

Entry Fees

To avoid potential quitters and disgruntled members from not communicating, Madden league officials are currently in talks to add an entry fee to the 2010 league. Such a fee may alienate some members, but it will attract the more serious Madden players. The fees may also create future opportunities for the league to offer high value prizes as well as provided funds for donations. No fee has been announced but the recent owner flux has definitely stirred up some talks.

The New Owner Shuffle

As the end of the third week approaches, more changes are happening. More and more owners are realizing that this isn't a league for casual Madden players; this is a league that puts your Madden skills to the test. This demand of Madden 'hardcoreness' is causing some members to call it quits. The following have already been replaced: Rampage198 (quit), SOG Riley (disqualified), SOG Otacon (disqualified), SonnyBoy (quit). Now we can add Uncle0 and Spazz12 to that list.

The Eagles and the Saints are now pending new owners. Although this 'shuffle' may confuse things for the moment, it certainly filters out those members that are less serious about taking their team to the end.

League Lock Date Extended

Due to the loud voice of the league members the league will not be locked until the end of the third regular season week. League members openly voiced their opinions on the league threads (how surprising) and wanted a replacement for the Chiefs owner SonnyBoy. After much deliberation, league officials have decided to extend the replacement of owners till the end of week three. That means that SOG threeinone is now the new Chiefs owner. Looks like we're going into the rest of the season with the Chiefs after all.

SonnyBoy Calls it Quits

The Chiefs owner has decieded to call it quits and leave the league due to person reasons. Unfortunatly we're now headed into week three and after week 2 anyone who leaves the league will not be replaced. So it looks like we're going to go the rest of the season without the Chiefs.

If you want to create a personal Web-site for your team showing things like stats, scores, pics, & more and link it to this site, you can. Just create it and after it is completed send a link to Husky Beast. After approval, your page will be linked to your teams name every time it appears on this site.
